We prioritize compassionate interactions and teaching methods to foster a supportive, inclusive, and joyful environment for all.
We teach students how to challenge themselves academically and persevere through adversity, embracing curiosity and learning from setbacks with resilience.
We believe in personalized teaching approaches that nurture each student’s well-being and inspire them to be good people.
Our commitment to service encourages community engagement in projects that address local, national, and global needs.
Boarding students in our Residential Life Program come from across the region and around the world and immediately find welcoming peers and experienced teachers — all of whom work conscientiously to make a challenging transition easier. In return, our boarding students gift our community with fresh perspectives and a national and global awareness that infuses our lessons and conversations. Our day students also constitute an integral part of St. Andrew’s lively 24/7 culture. They arrive early for breakfast, stay after dinner to study and socialize, spend time hanging out and sleeping over in our dorms, and come to campus on weekends and holidays to take part in special programming and weekend events.
All St. Andrew’s students benefit profoundly from day and night access to faculty members, from peers who offer diverse perspectives and uncommon kindness, and from extraordinary extracurricular opportunities to go, see, serve, and experience together. Our boarding atmosphere bonds our students into a tightly knit learning community, which, in turn, empowers everyone to rise to greater expectations and meet higher academic standards.
St. Andrew’s Middle School is a supportive and structured program for students in grades 6-8, centered on nurturing the whole child. In small classes with tailored teaching, teachers work with students on academic content, while at the same time developing study skills and organizational strategies, helping students become independent learners, increase their sense of self-esteem, and gain confidence in their abilities. Students engage in hands-on, project-based learning with Design as a core course in the Middle School curriculum with a focus on growth mindset and social emotional learning. Every fall, our middle schoolers take an experiential learning trip to Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, VT.
Middle School
Day and boarding students in grades 9-12 and postgraduate are nurtured to challenge themselves academically, athletically, and artistically with the support of our inclusive community. With a class size average of ten students, Upper School students work closely with their teachers to find their own paths to success. Students are taught the power of community engagement and giving back — community is paramount to St. Andrew’s. Upper schoolers have opportunities to pursue their passions and be a leader through student clubs, National Honor Society and National Art Honor Society, Student Council, and a number of other extracurricular programs.

Our renowned Learning Support Program is comprehensive and individualized for every student. Students with mild learning differences take the same courses as the rest of our students but also receive tailored instruction through small support classes and regular one-on-one sessions with a learning specialist — and some of our classes use a co-teaching model in order to support differentiated learning needs during class time. Students learn to become effective self-advocates as they gain knowledge and understanding of their individual strengths, challenges, and unique learning styles. As a result, self-esteem and self-confidence grow.
